Monster Home SQ build
The original design was a TL (when it was a two way), but the L8 will be in a standard vented cabinet now. I added a little bump at 40Hz to help give the illusion of my lower bass. The L8 has a really high Qts which would suggest a sealed cabinet, but my simulations show that this particular cabinet should work out well.
The cabinet design itself is very complex. Lots of bracing, mixing of materials and some seriously heavy construction techniques.
Each speaker will have its own cabinet, isolated from one another. I've taken inspiration form some current ubber hi-end speakers and some of my previous designs.

Yee of little faith. You always seem to have a negitive pull on everything. This is not the fist speaker that I've built, and I take it very seriously. Crossover design is not simple, nor would you hear me say it is. But let's just say I have friends in high places. I've already had measurments done on the speakers, but to be honest, I had a pretty good idea where the crossover points were going to be when I started. And just to be clear, speaker design is just as much art as it is science and measurements. Software will never tell you how a speaker sounds, but I though you already knew that!
