I recently added a second batt to my SQ system and I found the voltage to be more stable and volume remained more consistent

So you could hear the voltage drop on your sysem before you added the second battery?

The amplifiers that I was using prior to my Arcs were power hungry and played 1-2db quieter with one batt.

right now I don't have anything in the car as i'm in the middle of my build but was just wondering as i'm doing the install I might as well do it right the first time. Alright so I made up my mind I'm going to run 1/0g power wire from the battery to the back and go from there if a battery is needed then i can just place one in my wheel well. Now this brings up another point is the "BIG THREE" really needed?

I hear it maks a difference then I hear that it's just something going around in the forums but really isn't needed. I would really like to hear from you guys what you think, keep in mind this is for a pure SQ setup

the way i see it, the big 3 is very easy to do, and fairly cheap.

why wouldn't you do it. even if the upside is minimal, i would still do it.

can't tell you how accurate a voltage readout on a cap is, but my before and after big three read roughly a 0.5V increase.

^^i concur...mine was a steady .4-.5 volts higher after the big 3. I used 0 awg welding cable for all power and ground wires.

Ok... so you have a stock AC Delco, what CCA? How old? You are running enough power in your stereo to use up all the power most charging systems produce (amps, HU, engine, heat, AC, fan, lights, defoggers, etc.). The large gauge wire is a good plan, upgrading the big 3 allows the stock GM electrical system to perform at its peak. The C2k4 and 6 are great amps that produce a fair amount of waste heat (high bias class AB if I remember correctly). You are at a point where if you run the stereo at high power you will probably use up your battery quicker than expected. Depending on how loud you listen you will most likely have to upgrade the battery sooner or later. A second wet cell would be only $90 or so it isnt a terribly expensive option.

OK so I just checked now and this is what I have

75-6YR 12 Volt Auto & Lt Trk Battery, Group 75, 650 CCA, 90 RC, w/ Side Term - Threaded Insert, Skid Qty = 72

So JohnVroom are you saying I should add a second battery or upgrade from the stock one. I was thinking about getting a Kinetic battery just for the stereo Amps in the trunk.
