In the list of things to consider amplifiers are about #5-6 on the importance list. I don't know if you have taken into consideration speaker position, baffle/enclosure construction methods and implemention, sound dampening, absorption and venting, source/processing before the amplifier. IMHO you are expecting more then expected. IMHO an amplifier that amplifies a speakers that has very little treatment will do very little to make the speaker sound any better.

In the past 4 years I've owned the following amps: Audison LRx & VRx, Sundown, Arc SE and Zapco DC. Over 15years i've installed: JL Slash, Zapco C2K, JL HD, PPI, Soundsteam, JBL, Rodek, Kicker, basswork, kenwood, pioneer, coustic, rockfordfosgate, fusion, planetaudio ect - they all sound great and do what they are supposed to do amplify sound.

My conclusion about amps is I prefer ArcSE's the most to the ^^^ list. Zapco DC ref are a close second-simply because of the internal processing and ******* dynamics. All amps all have their +'s and -'s to them but if an amp can't stay in control and is only linear from low to mid - imho it's not an amp for me and my application.

I won't have my L6SE's installed until spring. The L4SE's are pre-ordered and going in as soon as Scott starts shipping them to dealers on Dec 26th. I don't have time to install them since I'm in the process of building my HT room.

I hope this info helps.
I'm mass-loading soundproofing my car, in the doors, floors, and trunk. It's going to be tedious task but worth it in the end I guess. If the A-pillars don't work, I plan to fiberglass location where the 6.5" goes and integrate a kick-panel style enclosure for the tweeter and the 6.5. The tweeter will be pointing at the opposite side passenger/driver on each side.

Deciding where the tweeter goes on paper is totally fine but listening to it in multiple locations is key. Mass loading a door is fine but are you going to increase the rigidity of the door itself? You're spending $550+ on the L6SE why not do as much as you can to the door to maximize it's performance

Well, on the doors, the insider wall of the outer door shell will be mass loaded, the door frame will also be mass loaded, and the speaker will sit on a MDF ring/spacer with fiberglass resin coating. The MDF ring will sit on clay which will be between the door frame and the ring.

I do plan to test the A-pillar, 6.5" location kick panel location (as listed above), and the door panel. From there, I'll choose the best location that suits my ears.

Just wondering, does anyone have experience with SQ with Sundown amps? (More specifically the SAX-100.4D)

High floor noise and didn't sound the greatest when I tested them
