After finally getting to hear a car at finals running all tube driver amps I can safely say I love the warth and openess of the sound that they produce, that said I dont think I would even consider them for my daily driver as they would take forever to warm up in the fall and winter months.
Tube amps
Have a Butler TubeDriver, absolutley incredible warmth and detail. Very true on the turn on delay and they do take some time to warm up. Until amp is warmed up they sound a lil muddy, so for summer ride go for it!!

Lol... you're right. If all things are equal (distortion patterns, feedback, power etc.) tube vs transistor... hard pressed for a difference.
There's just something about the glow of that heater... reminiscent of a technology/time when audio product wasn't designed solely with a marketing concept in mind.
If you're talking guitar amps... there is no transistor amp that totally match the microphonic whaling of my mid 60's Ampeg at volume, 11
