Hi guys,

I am wondering: do tweeters have 'impedance'? I've heard they're too small to change the load an amp sees. I'm running my coaxials (Kicker 6.5's, 4 ohm) with a 1" tweeter (Orion XTR) wired in parallel (the tweeter has a small inline cap as a crossover). Now is my mid amp seeing 4 ohms or 2 ohms?

So a 4 ohm speaker/driver shows a 4 ohm load, regardless of 'size'? (and thus a 2 ohm load in parallel?)

Yes, but the SQ guys can explain further that when the sound dips below a certain frequency the in-line cap on the tweeter resists current flow which causes the resistance of the tweeter/cap combination to increase so much that the effective load the amp sees is ~4 ohms. If you have a proper passive on your speaker (probably not the case since they're coaxes) you could set it up so that when the frequency goes above a certain point the speaker has an increased resistance and ~only the tweeter plays (again the amp sees ~4 ohm load)...SQ guys, please come to the rescue and elaborate...
