Competitors (or should I say judges) seem to traditionally prefer, shall we say, 'exaggerated' highs such as those bleated out by MBQuart and current lemming favorite Focal.
IMO it started a good decade plus ago when, after listening to systems all day, an SQ judge might find something 'perky' in a system that had some of these flamethrowers in it. And on it went...

I like a solid upper octave but not edgy. Daunting.
