of course there are other things that would benefit the systems as well as a pxah900, im pretty sure that nobody would argue that, would it benefit a simple system yes, would it benefit a more advanced system like the one you mentioned, yes. is it worth the money, to some yes to others no. again i repeat myself

There are 3 other users of the board, aside from Dave and myself, that have H900s.
I'd like to re-share a moment from the past when I first took possesion of this jewel. I played a full range signal from my deck, to an amp, then directly into my mids. (No filters set) I then ran a fiber optical cable from my deck to the H900, then connected the H900 directly to an amp, and then directly to my mids. (No filters set) Notes: I used the same amp in both tests. I used the exact same interconnect cable between the amp and the deck/H900. The speaker wire was also the same, and no I didn't use an HDCD that the full sonic potential can only be fully realized with the H900. The H900 was a big step forward in both tonality and imaging. EVERYTHING was more natural. Yes there are some better pure D/A converters than the H900 for a fraction of the price that you can use in your car. But, you kind of give and take a little by using an external D/A that doesn't have any signal processing. On one side, you get a better analogue signal than the H900, but then you get to muck it up with an analogue X.O. and/or E.Q. HOW do I know this? I've done it. I realize that I'm probably representitive of about 1% of car audio enthusiasts. But the bottom line to me is that I have HUGE fun playing with this stuff. And that to me is what car audio is all about, no matter what the budget. Have FUN. Adam |
there are more than 3 pxah900 users here, i can think of 5 that i know of, and not a complaint from one of them, and one of them has a very modest system, not too far off from dwvw's system he stated, just add the 4 channel amp. no fibre optic, analogue into the pxa and everything
