deck shuts off

ok so i have a 1998 cavalier and a while ago i installed new front speakers(brand new jbl4x6) and a couple days later i would turn up the volume loud and my deck would shut off. i have tryed getting a different deck and i cant seem to figure out why this happens? and these jbl speakers are most efficent then the older ones. and now i replaced the back ones and its still the same.

Are they 4ohm speakers? I know some speakers are 2ohms... that could be causing your HU to go into protect.

Providing that none of your speakers are shorting out anywhere.....and I do not see any mention of an amp..... I have seen this many times with cavaliers and sunbirds .

Wiring in those cars suc s , deck is probably starving for power when you turn the volume up.

remedy: new power sources for deck including ground.
