new speakers, one occasionaly cutting out/crackling
#1
I have an MTX Blue Thunder PRO400X5 amp, with two JL 10W0's and two 4" alpine Type-s coaxials in the dash.
The new dash speakers sounds great... really clear with nice depth.
Yesterday I noticed the right speaker was cutting out a little bit/crackling slightly. The volume was not up excessively or anything either.
The gain on my amp isnt too high (at least I dont think that is too high for these speakers) and the highpass filter on the amp is almost as high as it will go (is that not a good thing? I just dont want them trying to play any bass).
In my dash, the mounting area is kinda loose (the one panel on the right of the glove box is missing a tab) and it may have shaken a clip off of having good contact with one of the terminals.
Would not having good contact with the speaker wires make that happen? Im going to take it apart and try andtemporarely fix the dash so it wont vibrate as well as get some baffles while im under there.
I just hope it isnt blown or anything but it doesnt do this all the time... it only did it a couple times lastnight and this morning. When I got to work I stopped, and turned the balance back to even between right/left and the right speaker sounded just fine and as good as ever. wierd.
