Front Speakers DOING some mad CRACKLING.....

Alright while driving today my front left speaker started cracking really bad reallly reallly bad. You guys hopefully know what that sounds like.

So i fold the seat d own to expose the amp powering fronts.......cracking goes away. check all connections all are fine. Put seat back up, amp now vertical,,,,cracking starts again.......

Is my amp possessed? Lol does anyone have any suggestions? I know for temp fix i just drive with the seats down but for longterm what do i do?

check all the connections at the amp.
mainly the rca's if they are bent too tight the leads may be broken inside where you cant see.

test the rca's for continuity be sure to wiggle the ends around as you do the test.

chances are an rca has crapped out on you

sounds like something is getting pinched, shorting, or pulled when the seat is lifted. Get in the trunk and have someone lift the sea. Look closely to see what's happening, I'll bet that either as above, the rca's are moving, or the speaker wires are touching something (amp case, metal, each other). Good luck!!

^^ very possible. Something may be loose inside, and when it's standing upright it's touching something it should not.

this was my problem , Caused severe crackling . problem solved . I had over tightened the screw on the amp and it went through the plastic beneath it and settled a hair away from the casing of the amp , and when the bass shook the amp too much it caused the screw to get close enough to the amp casing for current to arc across the gap , but only on the downward cycle of the vibration ,which explains why it only happend with subs at high volumes , good news , every thing survived undammaged .

O man i opened up the amp today and this 1cm by 5cm think piece of metal fell out. I put the amp back in and all is good. Something musta been being shorted out from that tiny metal strip.
