No Fault Insurance
#1
The state of Michigan is crap.
I was in an accident about a month ago. A guy ran a red light and I plowed into him (while borrowing a friends van). Here are some pictures
So, since my friend is insured through ICBC (BC's insurance company) which is not no-fault, my friend's insurance rates will go up. In addition, my wife had to go into the hospital (she was 8 months pregnant at the time) and the bill just came in for that We could have had a nice trip for that! I hope my insurance will pay for that! Well, I'm moving back to Ontario in a month and looking forward to OHIP, normal drivers, and insurance I understand.

no fault sucks ***.
my mother-in-law was hit by a logging truck, totaled off her ride and she can never taste or smell again, was hospilitalised for 2 weeks, and her shull was shattered. no fault insurance however has limits, and hers was met by the second day. they had to pay all bills after that(however goverment picks up some hospital costs)
they were out all told about 15,000 not including loss of work for her husben. oh and while she was dieing in flin flon the emerengcy plane was flying some mla around, so they were to busy to pick her up<very common they ride it for free, and think its there privet jet or somthing.!
many problems with no fault, you can be sued but you can not sue others.
read the fine print.

ouch!!!
Here's a story how no fault has worked.. someone i know drove into a parking lot, there was a truck in front of her that stopped without signalling, etc. So she backed up a little to go around, switched to drive, and BAM someone hit her from behind. So they got out, talked, and the lady that hit her tried to blame it on her, and said "oh we dont need to go through insurance, just give me your name and number", so they did that, my friend thought she was at fault because of the lady , then the harassment began of the lady calling and calling and calling saying it's like $1,000 worth of damage, etc. So I went in with my friend and filed a police report of what actually happened (the lazy hit her). And called her insurance company to find out what she could do, and they told her pretty much as long as the police report says that the other lady hit her while she was stopped its ok. So the lady called her again, and she told her that, and the lady freaked out. Since then she hasn't heard from her again. What some people will do to try to take advantage of younger people.
