thats correct if you are importing only for the intention of exporting you can fill out fourms and not pay the GST.

But I belive your going to need proof, forms ect.

not my field so I don't know. I am more concerned about giving Canadians what they want.

I ONCE WORKED FOR A CANADIAN HOME AND CAR AUDIO DISTRIBUTER. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS.MOST OF THE BRAND NAMES COME FROM THE U.S. THE U.S. MANUFACTURES COVER MANY COST FOR ALL OF THE U.S. DISTRIBUTERS. NOW WHEN IT COMES INTO CANADA THE CANADIAN DISTRIBUTER MUST COVER ALL THE COST. THE COST ARE AS FOLLOWS ,DUTY THIS CAN BE AS HIGH AS 11%,SHIPPING,CUSTOMES,GST,INSURANCE ON THE SHIPMENT,AND THEY USUALLY DONOT GET ANY WARRANTY SO THEY MUST COVER ALL THE WARRANNTY FOR THE GOODS THE SELL. THE U.S. DISTRIBUTORS DO NOT HAVE TO COVER ANY OF THESE COST.

NOW THAT IT IS IN CANADA THE CANADIAN DISTRIBUTOR MUST MARKET THE GOODS AND PROMOTE THEM.THIS ALL COST MONEY.

AFTER ALL THIS THE GOODS HAVE TO BE MORE EXSPENSIVE. BUYING FROM THE U.S. HURTS CANADIAN RETAILERS AND WHOLESELLERS . THIS IN TURN KILLS OUR CANADIAN AUDIO SHOWS.

I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU

NOW T

well said venture - there are many costs for canadian distributors - about the only way to level the pricing between the two countries is to look at brands that are made elsewhere and that both countries have to import.

oh, and it'd be nice to kill the CAPS eh?
