Ontario's Pit Bull Ban
yea, nice post Toy, very well thought out.
Gilligan you can't leave man, I'm not sure I can handle the lack of knowledge in this post on my own, and I'm getting tired of the abundance of stupidity in this post....anybody new have some fresh ideas?

You guys are doing a much better job of proving our point, so keep it up. I'm heading to Vancouver Island. I'm not exactly sure when I'm gonna get back on a PC.
It's like trying to lead the blind in here.

The Ban is a bunch of documents protecting those people who have it against the breed. I'm fully aware of the people that will own them regardless of the ban, but the ban is a way for those who want it to feel safe because oh its set on paper. Thats it thats all.
As for banning guns, you need a license to own one, that makes people feel better even if its the smallest thing possible.
Put it this way, something on paper for those who know nothing of the breed but hate them or in general that're all for the ban, makes them feel better because a piece of paper is like gold to them. Even if its the small piece of paper that says they're banned. We all know people are going to own the breed regardless. But it gives some hope to those supporters and if an attack was to happen during the ban by the breed then the owner is screwed NOT the dog. To me that's a form of blaming the owner not the dog as you all spoke so highly of before.
And regardless of the fact that I hate pitbulls and the irresponsible people with these pets the only person I would trust with a pitbull is someone like Gilligan or Toyrantula. Why, because of all the things I've already read about their dogs. They aren't the irresponsible egocentric idiots that own the breed that the ban is mostly about.
Toyrantula - I have not owned a pitbull no, but I was attacked by 2 of them on the then thought safety of my own property for no reason.

So you got attacked by 2 pitbulls. Well, I deeply symapthize, I've been attacked my a Sheppard when I was younger, I've also owned a Sheppard even after it happened, but I do not think Sheppards should be banned. ANY dog could attack for no *apparent* reason.....no one is disputing that fact.....what I and the others that are anti-ban are saying is, there IS and ALWAYS WILL BE a reason why a dog attacks...it DOES NOT just happen.....it's NO dogs instinct to kill and maim and anihalate everything in it's path, it BECOMES that way...have you ever heard of a baby murdering someone? I haven't, but something happens down the road in the baby's life that makes it kill. Whether it's a mental problem, a domestic problem (abusive parents, getting bullied at school etc) or whatever, the person was not born with the insticnt to kill. If a dog attacks, it had a reason, whether you provoked it or not, whatever the reason may be, there was infact a reason.
The problem like I've said numerous times is that owners DO NOT train thier dogs properly....whether they don't know how or they choose not to, is neither here nor there, the simple, unfortunate truth is what I just said, owners do not train them properly, they get neglected, abused or trained poorly and they bite/attack.
I REFUSE to believe that people want to blame the dog....can society REALLY be that ****ing stupid?! The ban IS infact bull****, I'm all for the FAC type deal for "dangerous" dogs whatever you wanna clasify dangerous as.
Believe what you want, but untill you have first hand knowledge of how to PROPERLY train and care for a dog, I cannot listen to this babble about it's the dogs fault, and take it seriously, and anyone who says that, I laugh at your face.
Well, atleast we can agree to disagree.
The ban issue will not go away just like prostitution and taxes.
I am willing to bet that if people get thier way and ban the bully breed that another breed of dog will come to light for attacks.
After that breed gets banned, then what is next? Where will it all end?

the owners of pitbulls that have attacked people have to take some responsibility, we all agree on that, i am a dog lover, i like pitbulls, would i ever own one, not in your life, for reasons we dont have to get into. its unfortunate that pitbulls get alot of the attention, but it seems that they are doing most of the harm, doesnt it? a good customer of mine has a pitbull, professionally trained and came from a reputable breeder. he muzzles his dog when he takes it out becuase he even admits that pitbulls are very possessive and that even though it isnt provoking to you or i, a pitbull doesnt have the ability to rationalize between a friendly person and somenone who is dangerous, this is what makes them potentially dangerous, i agree that the ban isnt a good thing for dogs, but ive yet to hear 1 reasonable/feasable option, registering owners certainly isnt reasonable/feasable, niether is killing the owners, whoever said that needs to get thier brains looked at

That's the way my brain works. I also think that when you commit a crime it should be done right back 2 u. For example.... When the chick drove her kids into a lake, I thought her punishment should be (rather than a jail term) she is tied into a car & it drove into a lake so that she could drown as well.
If anyone ("whoever") wants to make this personal, I will email my current address to "whoever" would like it.
