its never really the dog's 'fault', not like they can rationalize. they are animals and animals do what they are supposed to, which is to act up on instincts. it is up to the owner to make the effort to tain the animal. dogs like these should be like guns, first u pass a course and then u can own one.

Prolifik is 100% correct..

Do you blame the beer because the guy is an alcoholic?
Do you blame the gun cause the guy murdered someone?

I myself was attacked by a dog 16 years ago.

All I can say about people who are dead against the ban; imagine it was your son or daughter who had his or her face chewed off by a dog whom everyone thought was "nice" and "friendly". I love pit bulls, but I can understand the reason for the ban. Pit bulls don't just bite. They maim, mutilate, and kill.

It's ridiculous to think that every dog who attacks someone was either abused or trained to do so. There have been many instances where well-behaved dogs have just snapped, and gone to town on a creature that posed absolutely no threat to it - say, a miniature poodle, or a 3-year-old girl.

no-one is saying that.

I'll venture to say that that's 50% of the problem though......the other 50% is that the dog wasn't trained well enough or at all.

With a responsible owner that has trained the animal properly and takes care of the animal, it will not attack without being provoked. Bottom line.
