i got bit by a mosquito, but it didnt kill me, or permanently disfigure me, or require stitches to fix, and i dont ever recall hearing about a snake that wandered into a residential neighborhood and tried to eat a 3 year old, maybe in uganda or something like that. i dont ever recall hearing about a mad poodle attack that left a child dead. pitbulls have an undeniable history of being violent, unlike any other "domesticated" animal ive ever heard of, with the exception of animals in the wild that do it to survive.......maybe there is a distinct link between animals that kill to survive and pitbulls maybe its just in their nature to be the way they are, the dogs killer instinct cant be denied and its history of unprovoked attacks is what brought on the ban. i always get a kick out of people that immediately want to blame the owners, is it not at all possible that these dogs, regardless of how well trained and raised they are, just have a physiological tendency to be too agressive. im sure that there are very nice pit bulls out there, im sure that some of the ones that attacked people were nice, the owners always claim they were, but maybe they are a dog that cant be controlled all the time regardless of the training they are given, and for that reason nobody should have them

Would you rather a pitbull be in the hands of a responsibile owner that can give it a good home and love it and train it properly, or some as_shole who wants to abuse it, mistreat it, not train it or not properly train it??
I agree with Defro's post however at the end of it I would like as I said before, there to be a test or something much like what people go through to adopt a child, as to adopt a pitbull. A screening process etc.

"Guys whether it happens with other dogs or not, majority of the time is a Pitbull."
Sorry but in most cases it's an APBT mix not an actual APBT.
The ban is bullsh*t!

Funny, I havn't heard about a pit-bull bite in BC for a long time.
<doesn't mean it doesn't happen just means its not reported>
Yet everytime a rotti bites around here its splashed over every peice of news around.
Does that mean rotties should be banned?

we should ban all the dogs over 20 pounds in weight.
pure APBT or not doesnt really matter. yah u can argue that its the owner but then again i have never seen a poodle just go for a child and bite its head off regardless how bad its owner was.
im not pro and im not against. i have a heafty dog myself and i can tell u that if u are not the owner then u are pretty much helpless if he attacks u, and no its not a pit breed.
but i tell u this much. when im walking in the park alone and i see someone with a APBT without a leash i get alot more cautiouse than around someone who has their german sheppard without a leash. now why is that?? it is interesting when u think about it b/c i had been bitten by german sheppards before...out of the blue as well as at its owners command....not a fun experiance i tell u that much, especially when it bites u in the face. Yet, im more worried about a PIT.
