putting pd and pw into a vehicle that doesn't have em
ok....since all you people don't seem to believe me or agree that a grand cherokee could ever come without door locks....the owners manual says grand cherokee.....the vin number on carfax.com pulls up a grand cherokee:
VIN: 1J4GZ68S7RC299229
Year/Make/Model: 1994 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SE
Body Style: 4 Dr. Wagon/Sport Utility
Engine Type: 4.0L L6 HO MPI
Manufactured In: UNITED STATES
dunno what the SE stands for maybe it's some weird edition that came without pwr doors or windows lol...or maybe second edition. Guess i'm lucky....i have a rare vehicle! lol
Anywho....glad we got that settled.
Hah! Gonna see what the shop tells me for wiring up door locks into my alarm/starter and whether it's a ripoff or not! Probably gonna be about $75/door which i'm not too excited about. If thats the case...i'll see if i can find some doors at a junkyard and yeah see how much work that is....door locks are hte most important....front windows would be nice!

when in doubt DIY
i think door locks would be fairly simple really, actuator wired to a switch, and hooked to the bottom of the door lock rod dealy....
i dunno maybe im over simplifying it (i havent done it myself) but it dont seem too difficult... get the parts, buy some slurpees and have fun on a sunny saturday

K .........talked to my friend he's a big 4wd nut .........and owns a GC .......
any how I asks you ever heard of a GC without pw & pdl .......
he says "must be a 93 or 94 SE"
he told me the 93/94 se's were very bottom line GC's no sound deadner pkg or nothin ....but they did exist for those 2 years then they were dropped
so pick up some brown bread and Lcomp too eh
he suggested just picking up some wrecker doors and swapping it all over ........
oh yeah he said if it's got a 5spd you got one of the rarest GC's on the road

Did this to my Corsica. Took out the carpet, and the power window/locks wiring was a package option so the wires were laid completely separately.
Stole all the regulators/motors from all 4 doors, stole all wiring form the doors and all wiring from under the carpet. Put it all in (one door at a time). Was easy, would have been a lot of $$$ if the parts werent free from work.
