Just put a down payment on an 8 cube sealed box. 45s, .75", 1.5" baffle. Up fire. Should be done by friday. Got it built at a great shop. Its going behind the front seats, its 49.5 x 20.25 (baffle) x 18.25 height. 8.33 grosse, 2 3x3x48 45s is .25 cubic feet. After displacements is 8.01 net. Then i need a deck harness, amp install.

Im not sure if i should do it myself. The shop said theyd use copper wire. For the big 3 and an amp install they quoted 300-350 using copper wire. I didnt think it was gonna be that much and i want it working yesterday. Do i need the big 3? I have 105a alt and stock batt, 1000w @ 4 ohms to the sub. No amp on the highs besides the stock one. I have 8 6.5s coming soon.

Is it that hard to wire it up and which size wire should i not go below?

I can wire things, no problem. But i gotta save money. I dont want to have to drill thru the fire wall, let them do it.

So i need a deck harness for $15, gotta pay $120 for the rest of the box, deck install and factory amp re-un. theres about $175. I cant go much past $50 for an amp install and wiring kit.

Would it be bad to not do the big 3, cuz its only 1000w.

Copper 0 gauge must be like $10/foot! Whaaaaa?!

Well i paid for the box and put a down payment of 75 (of 150) for an amp and deck install for sometime this week and paid for a deck harness. Maybe tomorrow morning. i still cant decide between 1 or 4 ohms 1k or 2.5k, i might as well do 2.5k cuz i know id be itching to rewire it. So basically another $75 and the subs are working. It wasnt in my plan but they counter sunk the 1.5" baffle. 2 runs of 0ga. Dual deck lol. It was $20. Dont judge me. The box is 8 cubes net sealed with (2) 3x3x48 45's, .75" everywhere else. No carpet, im gonna make it clean with particle board and two tone leather, the same as the interior. Ill get pics of the box and subs in the car tomorrow - if itll fit through the back door like i fackin hoped.

Oh... And my money order for the 8 6.5s is being sent back, it was too much to ship them to canada. What would i do with 8 6.5s lol, id have to pay to fiberglass. Id rather have 2 good 6.5s, 2 good tweets and 2 good mids. Much more realistic and the space is there.

Hopefully theyll keep up its just an 8 cube sealed box.

Box is in. Amazing quality, all cnc machined, rabbit joints, 45's, 8 cubes net sealed. Fit right thru the door. 1mm on each side of door handle so the doors keep it snug. Leveled it out with scrap 2x4s. Ill make it clean with two tone leather and mount the amp behind the subs on an angle going up to the rear deck (which will hide the trunk opening). Ill be using this box for my ported wall for 2 lms ultra 18s (dont have) ill just slap on external aeros and wall it out. They have a flat response in 4.3@25 hz. But for now 1 ohm/2500w. Cant wait. Taking factory deck out today, deck and amp install this week with 2 runs of 0ga.

Took 3.5 hrs. Got home, cars dead. 3 hours late for work. Bass knocked batt terminal loose. Its great. Lights dim. Its deep, gains and bass boost (30hz lowest/adjustable) are down. Shops setting gains tomorow. Theres sooo much rattle. Absolutely loving the looks im getting lol. Need to hear these ported 12 cubes walled now. Its really only loud at full volume, vibrates the nose. Need tints.

Its costly to wall so im considering selling the 18s for a level 6 18 or 2 level 4 15s etc then mod my 8 cube sealed box into 7 cubes ported.

how do you like the xtx5000....i was very close to buying one for an extremely steal of a deal price but after reading peoples reviews online many are claiming it does not do rated and does less than 2000, but thats all heresay i guess. Have you clamped it at 1 ohm? if it does do atleast rated i wouldnt mind getting it at the price i was being offered. After the us amps take over im only comfortable buying the older stuff or the current pro line of woofers that are still made in the US with the same engineering and quality of the good old days. In any case those 18s are bangin and i assume you are hated in your neighbourhood now lol
