Ok cool. I just thought you could upload them into a post on here directly from your computer. I'll load up some pics when i go home tomorow or monday.

I still need to get the 3/4" and 1" MDF before i can start the build. I'm finalizing my plans and designs with my shop teacher first then it will be time to take the plunge and make the first cut. I'm just pretty nervous about it cuz the plexi is so effing expensive lol I want everything to be perfect and idiot proof to minimize the chance of me making a very large and expensive paperweight due to design error.

I'm sure your shop teacher knows more than I do (so check with him/her) but whenever I cut Plexiglass I use wide masking tape along the cut to minimze edge tearing and splintering. I also use a very fine tooth blade for the cleanest cut possible, BUT you can melt the stuff too if you dawdle along with your cut.

Come to think of it, if you purchased a large enough piece, it probably has a protective blue peel off film on it already to gaurd against surface scratchs, etc.

yeah it has the protective covering on it still. Melting the edges can sometimes warp the edges a bit and since i want as tighta fit as possible for a better seal, i'll just use some fine grit sandpaper to clean up the edges.

I'll throw up some pics showing different stages of the project when I can.

Do you know what I could use for lighting inside the box? I was thinking LEDs but it seems I cant find cheap strings of LEDs for a car. I was thinking about going out and getting some of those outdoor rope lights ppl put out for christmas and just taking off the rubber on the outside but I'm not sure if that would work or not.

Neat.

So the green would be the lighting? And, if so, it looks like you are going to enclose the lighting by putting a cover plate over them?

i wonder if a lighting strip down the middle (90 degrees to the top & bottom long strips, would look like an "H" if you rotate the 'H" 90 deg.) following the divider more or less would add anything?

Cheers

John

The green is actually the plexiglass pieces and where they sit into the MDF. I see what you mean though about the lighting and i think it would be a good idea if I can find the right way to light it properly.

If you have not cut the plexi yet, cut some mdf first to ensure it is going to be the right size first. Then assemble the box and try the subs in it to see how it sounds. No point in destroying the plexi if the box is going to sound like a$$.
