Now I did not spring for the Z24 because my insurance company would have raped me and as it is I am stretching the budget.
But I love it, great on gas reasonable power and well finished.

Did you use the harness from a tracker?
Do you have door chimes?

 

I used a normal harness for the 02- cavalier but it fits a majority of gm 02-03 vehicles, no door chimes but to me they where annoying anyway... I thought the Z24 was going to kill us on Insurance as well but went up 40$ I think, we pay around 240 for it only cause my fiance doesn't have G licence yet.... I am comparing it to our 2.4 Sunfire Gt, I am use to it's power which I mean is 10 hp more but seems alot less then 140 on this car, and so far gas mileage SUCKS lol....we have like 2400km on it, but yeah back to the harness it took me a while to determine if I wanted to risk it or not then I finally did and everything works fine I dunno if it's using the External amp that came in the car but sounds good considering it's stock speakers still....

As it is my insurance jumped $800 a year going to this car, the Z24 for me was going to be almost $350 a month.
I am not sure what to do

 

2 plants build the sunfire and cavalier, one in ontario, one in ohio I believe. The one in ohio is also the one that produces the toyota cavalier.

 

What is this Toyota cavalier? Whenever I Do a search on them on google or something it brings up nothing important? What does this car even look like?

 

I know the conversation seems to be over, ut I just wanted to add something along the lines of GM proof, much like zealouz calling GM...The shop I deal with is also a certified factory repair centre for GM electronics. I read all the stories/rumours about the air bags etc...when I was going to put a deck into my 2000 Sunfire GT...I went in and, despite the fact that some dealers might lie to you to make the 185 bux, my guy, who I trust told me flat out, in your car, nothing but the chimes will be affected.

Hey buddy thanks for looking into for me! Just one thing if you could find out for me, since there's no switched power where in the fuse box do I hook it up so it actually turns off when the key is off? or do I just keep pulling off the face plate and shutting it off that way?

i usually use the large 12 guage wire in the main bundle under the steering column

 

Tap into the wiper fuse. That's what i did with my Cav.

 

Is it the geo/ chevy prism? Basically the exact same car as the corolla, just with the GM name on it.
