Anyone using MiniDSP?
For one thing it's a power amplifier. They usually have distortion and noise specs vastly poorer than preamplifiers. Also, it's a class-D amp which are not known to be great performers. The THD+N spec is not too bad (for a class-D) but it's many times higher than the output of the MiniDSP so why add another amplification stage if things will only be worse? The whole purpose of higher output voltage is to get above the noise. There are better ways to keep the noise low such as eliminating stages of amplification.
