Blown voice coil?
#1
Hey, i just sealed a sub box for a 15" square kicker sub solo baric. The sub worked fine before when it wasnt sealed properly and air leaked out but now that i have sealed it, the sub will give a kick but cut out. There is nothing wrong with the amp. When i push on the sub while the music is playing it will cut back in and i have to keep applying pressure to the sub so it will go back in and continue playing but when i remove my hand it cuts out again? Any one know what is wrong? Its wierd becuase it worked when it wasnt sealed but i guess it could easily go back in without the seal.

sounds like one of your tensile leads have come loose. take the sub out of the box and play your music at LOW volumes . and check if moving the tinsile leads on the back of the sub make it play .
if a coil is blown it would not play at all and would most likly smell of burning/ not move at all .

Ya, I have played with it a bit and if i dont put too much power to it or keep it from hitting the heavy bass notes it works fine. When it hits a heavy bass not the woofer seems to go out too far and get stuck, I then have to push on the woofer to get it back in. Like its over extending or something.
