Car Audio in your area - How popular is it?

how popular is car audio in your area? are there many shops and enthusiasts? do you find yourself surrounded by fellow bass heads, or are they far and wide in between?

if possible, state where you are from.

After holding our show in Windsor last year, we found that at least 20-25 people are interested in competition and/or "showing off their systems"... Dub City Soundoff was the first successful competition Windsor has had in MANY years.

There appears to be several people sharing our interest in car audio around here... there are currently 3 car audio shops in Windsor (other than big box stores). None of them however only cater to car audio anymore as they have had to find other means of "surviving". They however weren't willing to help out when we had our show though... times are tough for all I guess...

chilliwack is ok. small enough that you get noticed by everyone and big enough to have every major brand and quality shops..

I know lots of people with aftermarket systems... but they almost all consist of a deck + 4 speakers and a pair of 12s off 300 watts of power... or something along those lines...

Basically if you can't buy it at futureshop, you arn't going to see it....

Ottawa's got a pretty weak scene. Mostly future shop systems. People are more into speed than bass around here, and they don't understand why I have hundreds of pounds of speakers in my trunk.
There's interest though. It's just making the jump from "just listening to bass" to actually competing is tough.
We have car meets every friday night in the summer that bring in over 200 cars... mostly rice rockets though...

Bradford is barren. There's one or two cars other than mine that I've noticed.
No shops, no love.

Forcing me to go to Newmarket. ****ers.

we only have 2 shops now (1 shop went under just last year)
and last year only 1 show (they used the old meter tho)

it used to decent here with a fun show every week of the summer and a few bigger shows each month of the summer
