Car Audio in your area - How popular is it?

Best thing I ever did was get out of Courtenay and off of that island. While I enjoyed my 15 years in business in Courtenay it was time to move on as all of my customers over the years did as well. Where I live here in the Calgary area, there is no specialty 12volt store. I am thinking I need to dive back into it this winter for remote starters whenever it is not snowing.

If there was a decent shop that happened to open up though, I would have no problem supporting it......as I hate having to resort to going to a 'Big Box' store when no others exist for certain items.
It has gotten so bad around here that I had to order the bulk of my new system directly from a Hertz Dealer in Italy because at the one vendor that I know of in Calgary that offers Hertz now, they seem to be 2x the price that I pay directly from italy, shipped in boxes to me that originated from Hertz main Italy distro.....so atleast I know I am shopping authorized, even though it's grey market.

Use that settlement cash to pickup a few periods and commas while you are at it j/k .....
Seriously though, it seems as though even the Calgary scene (including the number of decent shops) is dying a slow/painful death like everywhere else. Big Box stores seem to be the only ones able to survive in this financial climate.
When a certain local shop, that used to be considered one of the most 'elite' in town (that pushed Audison, Hertz, Focal, Eclipse), is now calling 'Kenwood Excelon' their Premium line ? .....tells me that things are going downhill.....fast.....
