The most impressive setups I've seen in 10 years is two Type-X 12's in an Alpine pre-fab on two Kicker 2400's & 2 Visonik 10's on 1k in a jimmy (which was way better). It's useless to talk about audio with the youngins' here because the ultra-n00b is somehow always right or says things that make zero sense and it just gives me a sharp pain in my head when I hear soft gangsta kids speak of it. The only shop I'll go to is East Hamilton Radio because they have like 10 installers who know what they're doing.

Owen Sound/Sauble Beach area, Ontario, very little here. I mean there's probably more than I know about, being I haven't been out of it for so long, but I rarely here a system bumping anywhere, except for cottagers/tourists in the summer. Out of all the people I've met in the last 5 years, none of them have been into car audio. I suppose country music isn't that great for bass On top of this, we are pretty much a retirement community, and anything that involves young adults is pretty much banned (little extreme, but becoming more and more true.)

We have one shop, that I know of, and I wouldn't buy there or recommend anyone else buying there if my life depended on it. They ripped me off when I was 16 (charged me $180 for an $80 sub, because I heard the sales guy wrong and he went with it). I figured it out about 3 years later when I started to really get into car audio with the other shop that we used to have (which is closed now due to retirement). Plus, if they hold grudges like I do, which I wouldn't doubt, they wouldn't give me any deals and take me for all I had if I let them, due to the amount of business I helped take from them (advertising for the competition and beating them at their own show).

Sorry bout the mini-rant, but truthfully, all grudges aside, they wouldn't be so busy if we had a Futureshop. Their main business isn't so much their car audio but their home theatre, and, although they have a lot of sales, they overcharge on a regular basis. Most people around here, that I've ever talked to, only pay their prices because they don't have a cheaper alternative (that a Futureshop would provide). Also, anyone who actually is into car audio, wouldn't pay their prices, because buying online (even after shipping charges) is so much cheaper.

Kyle Tpark is wack thats why theres no one there with stereos. In all honesty though East York was poppin back when some other people still lived in the area, but they've moved or don't come around anymore, but thats just cuz its cold.

Scarborough is ok in the summer with the Kennedy Commons meets, but there aren't that many guys with stereos, more show cars and tuners.

Anyone in East York looking for a laugh though, make a trip down the Danforth in the summer on a Friday or Saturday night, always good to outplay those guys.

In my small town I don't know one vehicle that doesnt have an aftermarket cd player. But always wal mart and canadian tire brand and nothing good. My car is deft the loudest but y town consists of 200 people or so lol. Closest people are about an hour and 45 minutes away. Oh and closest car audio place is about hour and a half closest best buy or futureshop is well over 2 hours and closest Canadian tire is 45 minutes but they have jack anyways lol

The town im from (Elmsdale, Nova scotia) theres next to nothing/noone thats interested in car stereos. (There's only 3 other people than me that I know of)

Most have a beat off piece of crap civic or something that they just try to show off by doing burn outs in the parking lot........ and it doesnt help that the only stereo shop that was here shut down last year because they couldnt pay there rent.... (pretty bad when the owner of the building had to put out a public asking the owner of the shop to pay his rent..... kinda sad really)

Now as for the city of Halifax its a fair bit different. Most people have a stereo from the big box store that we all know and love....... but there is a decent hand full of people (25-50) around the area that actually have a real interest of car audio and actually compete. i guess it really depends on what show is going on at the time and where its at. we have 2 big shows during the summer where we could see up to 50ish competiters, but for the most part the numbers are pretty small for actual comptition tun outs.

I'm from Montreal, Quebec... scene is weak here too. We have a car meet once a week (thursdays), usually 150+ cars show up and theres 2-3 of us that part together with stereos. We do draw a nice crowd.. i had 6 10s in a golf, my buddy had 2 15s in a cavalier walled.

Most people around here buy future shop gear and thats about it.. maybe 2 10s? 1 12?.. nothing too crazy.

Local shop that does support it is CSC owned by a buddy of mine, held 2 comps and only 15 or so people turned on.. many of which did not compete.

On thursday nights we try to boast local shops by handing out their business cards and planting them all over our cars for shops to get noticed. Sometimes it helps... Me and my buddy do tend to draw a crowd with our stereos because its practically unheard of here.
