Help with Box Size
#1
I'm looking at building a new box for some new subs that I'll be getting.
I think I've decided on Treo SSi 12" dual 2 ohm subs. However, on their website the list all the specs but nothing for box sizes, so could you please tell how big the box needs to be for these scenarios:
1. Sealed - 1 (one) Treo SSi 12"
2. Sealed - 2 (two) Treo SSi 12"
3. Ported - 1 (one) Treo SSi 12"
4. Ported - 2 (two) Treo SSi 12"
Treo's website web page
Thanks for your help.

well here's just a little helper.
1. we need to know how big the box can be before it won't fit in the vehicle. just give some measurment's of the trunk so we got something to go by.
2. go ported, correct me if im wtrong, but it will be much louder.
3. i don't know... just have fun when building the box.

with 2-12's you'll probably want to look around 3-4max cubes in there. try around 80-100^2 inches of port? damn. i haven't made a 2-12 ported box daily driver for along time.. but that's what mine was around a year and half ago.., and it was LOUD!

Ok, more accurate measurements. This is the max size of the box:
Width: 40 inches
Height: 16 inches
Depth: 20 inches
That works out to 7.4 cubic feet, which is huge!
So from my first post using 1 or 2 Treo subs, and either ported or sealed, how big should I build the box?
Thanks,
NVES

Optimal as in the right size for the Treo SSi subwoofer. Doesn't each sub have recommended box sizes based on the subs characteristics?
I know I've seen people use box calculators to determine the size of the box? So I was directing my question to those of you that have one of the calculators.
Thanks,
NVES

i printed the parameters and plotted them, because you didnt specify which ss12, i'll assume its the ssi12.44, if you were to build a box with 2.5 cubic feet of internally calculated volume, it will sound very good, f3 below 35, quite good for a sealed box of this size, and the overall box q is .81, again not to bad at all, there is a vented option that i wouldnt recommend unless you are trying to gain more output at the sacrifice of overall quality, hope this helps
