Disconect the sub (leave the amp connected to power and rca's and leave it on).
Play some tunes and trun it up.
Does the amp still shut off?
YES = subwoofer is the problem
NO = sub isn't the problem.

If you want to fix this you must troubleshoot properly starting at the end of the chain (sub).

The ground for the amp is good, I just shaved off the paint and tried another spot in my trunk and still no good.
I have two amps - My bazooka amp - http://bazooka.com/productAutoAmplifiersRS.asp?id=201

And a Pyramid America amp, 1200 watts that I just use for testing stuff.

My pyramid amp powered my 12" L7 fine for one year, now going into my new car it's going into protect mode and the bazooka clicks on and off with the sub playing and going off and repeating.
We wired the sub to my friends amp and it played fine so the sub is good.
It all has power, 4 gauge wire for the ground and 12V.
It just doesn't make sense.

That amp is 1ohm stable so it shouldn't be a impedance issue.

Try this pull the amp and hook it up in your friends car, with your sub, and see what happens.
If it works fine then I would check your entire electrical system leading to the amp.

the kicker L7's tend to be a lower impedance than they rate... the dual 2 ohms are closer to dual 1.5, so that may be the problem.

I've tested both my amps in a friends car and they work fine.
It's either my deck or the wiring up to my amp which is all fully powered and what not after lots of testing and checking.
I think it's heading towards a pro install even though everything is installed...it just doesnt work for no reason...
