Infinity??
If you want sound quality, dont buy an mtx sub... they are only good for SPL.
Basically any subwoofer upgrade will only sound so good, unless you have the mids/highs to go with it. Don't blow your wad on just bass.. think about it man.
I think of it like throwing a massive engine into a stock honda civic, but not bothering to upgrade the suspension and drivetrain to take the whole car to the next level.
Or like going to the gym and working out only your arms, pecs and abs.. It only makes you look good in the mirror. When you need to lift something heavy your back/legs will give out.
In a good SQ system the subwoofer will enhance the system (alot), but IMO the overall sound will still be pretty shitty without the mids/highs.
put 1kw to 1 SQL sub (like the IDMAX). This will be LOUD. then think about putting 150x2 for the front with some good quality components. Do a good install job with dampening in the right places and your system will truly kick ***.

Step by step fella. We have a grand to work with. The OP's priority is to upgrade the woofer, and to make a big step up. The rest of the system can follow when the budget allows.
OP, if the speakers are running off of the deck, the most you are getting rms is 13 watts per speak. The Type R's like somewhere in the range of 110-200wrms, the Pioneer most likely around the 50-75wrms area. You will need a 4 channel amp to get those speaks to their potential
