There are some really good knowledgeable shops that are vendors here on the site, yet I see two people only with the ***** to recommend a site authorized vendor. Yet some of the very people who have posted on this thread have had the ***** to come ask me personally for information and now are telling others to go to the US e-tailers to purchase and then to even come on line to forums like this to search out the information.

While yes times are changing and the forums can be a excellent source of information for all on them, generally speaking, how many bad shops are there on this one? Is the advice that we vendors and black void members give bad, inaccurate or full of BS? I think not. Perhaps it is time that the people who think that the local shops are full of BS (and I have no doubt that there are lots of them, especially compared to good ones) realize that the fine shops and void members on this forum need not be lumped into the same category that makes one want to shop elsewhere. Give us the opportunity to earn your business as we take the opportunity to earn it by giving you the information that you seek.

^^^^^ Great post Rob!

AAAAAAAAAA I am not angry with you... just with the belief that a person's time is not valuable. I thank everyone I transact with, regardless of if I am the purchaser or vendor. If I buy a coffee, I thank the server. If I order stock from Italy, I thank the manufactor. Why do I do this? Because I value their time and the fact that they do what they do so they can support their families, pay the mortgage, etc.

I would like to add one thing... believe it or not... local shops might also have some deals that will kick butt over the internet AND have local warranty and service to boot. Finally, if you pick it up locally, it does not disappear or get damaged in transit.

I never wanted to imply that a persons time is not valuable.

MR2NR, I think the first poster asked about a US site and was wanting to know about more US sites, that's pretty much what I got and would say thats why most people are recommending other US sites.

www.Parts-express.com is apparently very good.
So is www.solen.ca

Where he works... a more realistic request would be "how about getting some work done this MONTH"

(we work in the same gov. agency.. just different branches)

What was this thread about again? Oh yeah, people who buy monkeys for entertainment. Now my view on it is that if the monkeys are coming from a horrible life/place then they should be more than happy running around an appartment or jumping around on a sidewalk making some busker some cash but taking them out of the wild is just wrong IMO.
