basicaly if you spens like 200$ on front stage, dont go and spend 50$ on the back.. ull notice the difference. spend about the same. obviously the comps ur puttin up front are gonna cost more more than the 2/3-ways in the back cause of the x-over.

hard to explain but basicaly dont buy crap for the back unless ur buyin crap for the front.

alright, in the car i have now I bought new rears becuz I dont use the front speakers much and I thought i blew them not to mention that when I got the deck I knew I was gonna blow them regardless and all i could afford was $200 for a pair of 6x9s

There is a little thing called tone and timbre matching that most people do not ever consider. Then there is the issue of why bother having rear speakers. Or the issue of yes you can have rear speakers but they don't need to be like the front. Or they can be whatever you like. It is a lot of personal preference and it will really depend on your budget, what you prefer and what you want.
For the record, Blaupunkt is the second oldest manufacturer in car audio today (soon to be the first if they already are not) and have made some incredible products over the years and will continue to do so today and in the future. Too bad some of the other maufactures did not have the access to capital like the Blue dot group of companies does.

SQ and Blaupunkt don't go together, Blaupunkt and Distortion do however.

Well George, I beg to differ, a good installer can make even the worst of equipment sound good. Blaupunkt has made some stunning equipment over the years, they have also had their share of failures as well and it seems that this is where your impression has come from.

Sorta like you and useless statements.

So other speakers such as focal will not distort no matter what? Only Blaupunkt is victim of the distortion fairy?

Hmm.. I have a pair of Blaupunkt 6x9's... that sound great... I hear NO distortion... hmmm maybe I got lucky with this pair? lol Knock what you've tried bud

YOU KNOW THE DISTORTION FAIRY? Send me her address, have I got a bone to pick with her.

ZachCHartwell 03-15-2004 09:17 PM

I'm not done with her yet. ;)

George agrees that any installer can make something sound good, but George also knows that you can't always make it sound great. George knows that Blaupunkt was the cats behind a 13 years ago, but since then it has been surpased by dozens of companies. George knows that no matter how good Blaupunkt makes product now, the last 8 years of crap will make it hard to ever get a good name back.

George knows this and he doesn't even have to wear a stupid mask.
