Wow, unless you're really eager to type a lot and help a new guy you should probably leave now. This all started a few weeks ago when I just decided I wanted a little more 'umph' in my car audio. I bought a

JVC KD-G210 (I'll be including links with everything I mention to save you guys time, because while I'm not very savvy in car audio I'm quite good with computers. :&gt
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/JVC-I...oductDetail.do

anyway, I purchased this and all was good for a little while but I just decided I wanted it to be louder, and wanted to have a little bump in my car. Not like rattle my trunk bump, but some real loud music.

I called Circuit City and browsed the web and thought about purchasing these
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bazoo...oductDetail.do

looks like a good deal for all I know, so I called them up and asked about the install, and everything, and they said it would be about $100 for the parts $60 for the install, and that $100 for the package which is rediculous because I found the exact same "parts" (Tsunami AMP350 8 gauge) cable kit on a website for $14, when Circuit City wanted $49.99 for it. So I decided that Circuit City would be overpriced and would run me around $300 or so, which seems rediculous, so I started wandering if the wire set was cheaper elsewhere, I could probably find Speakers, subwoofers, and the amplifier cheaper somewhere else as well. Now, the newest idea I have is to do it all myself, and this is how far I've gotten... (I really need to know if all this stuff is compatible, because to the best of my knowledge as long as the speaker inputs don't bypass the maximum outputs of the amp I'll be fine. :&gt

For my amp I saw this..
http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/LA290.html
(Noting that I think that this will completely disreguard the spec my CD player came with (50Wx4) and increase my total er... power to 4x100 peak? :x)

Something I really can't figure out though, is why I found these (Legacy) 12 inch subs for $17.34 a piece at http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/LWF12.html

and these at Circuit City
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Verge...oductDetail.do
for more than double the price.. Does the brand really make that much of a difference?

and finally this enclosure
http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/H212.html
for $26.09 which should finalize my Subwoofers, and amp.

Now for my side door and rear deck speakrs I know they take 6-1/2 speakers (1998 Saturn SL2) and I found these. (I'll need 4 of them)
http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/6091.html

I'm not real certain what I'll need as far as cabling other than heavy duty speaker wire, and heavy duty RCA Cables, I'll probably get both Tsunami brands since I found them so cheap... That's where I stand, and if you guys could correct, adjust, give your opinions, or just completely shoot me down on what I've got thus far maybe tomorrow I can move to installlation. Thanks a bunch in advance.. I really would like to do all this myself pretty much because I know it will be cheaper and I'd like to learn about it in general. Later™

Pay the higher price and go to your local stereo shop. The higher price includes the education on how it works and how to use it from an industry professional and that person will help you in the future as well. You never know you might make a friend or two at the same time.

If your only interested in price then ask the person at the orders desk of the internet dealer you are going to buy from. See if they will, can, or have the knowledge to help you out.

The topic of internet dealings has been discussed to death on this and other forums. The industry members here that can help you will most likely not since your going to take the knowledge they have worked years at acquiring through expensive trial & error and countless hours of testing and then not spend your money in a B&M shop.

With some exceptions the most knowledgable people here work at, rep or own electronic stores. Support them and they in turn will be there when you need support in kind.

before you buy, just start reading alot of magazines and online info, such as boards, manufacturer's sites, store sites(crutchfield)etc...From your post I can tell you are very new to car audio as the equipment you are considdering is...ahh how should I put this...not very good. From personnal experience, anything made by Pyramid( legacy) is not worth the cheap price you pay. Unfortunately, you don't have the 20 years of experience that I have in this hobby, but hell everyone has to start somewhere. As Lethal mentioned above, visit lots of local stores and talk to the reps, just remember that they are there to sell you their products and not other brands( keep this in mind as some sales reps will surely put down brands that they don't carry). Over the years, most of my knoledge in car audio has been gained by doing things myself. I am however very mechanically inclined with aptitudes in electronics and reading comprehension. If you are not good with these things...leave it up to a pro. I sincerely hope you educate yourself as to poor, good, better and possibly better quality equipment before you buy. The extra time you spend researching will pay off in years of sonic pleasure.
Here are some brands that I have found to be excellent over the years, that I would not hesitate to purchase:
Alpine, pioneer, kenwood, clarion, Rockford Fosgate, Precision power, Kicker, mtx, Infinity, jbl and there are many more.
good luck and have fun, because that's what it's all about.
