Usiong wire other then speaker wire to wire subs?

Usiong wire other then speaker wire to wire subs?
I Hooked up my amp and Sub instead of speaker wire I used some stuff that said Hook Up wire is that ok or should I use Speaker Wire?

as long that its bigger than 14gauge and its wire your ok
