Welder cable- cheaper, but just as good?

The insulation on the welding cable can be subjected to some heat as in welding, the fancy coloured stuff looks nice on my livingroom floor but subject it to underhood heat & that's a different story. I use 4 gauge welding cable. It Rocks!!

I tried welding cable...make sure you get the stuff without a paper liner. The paper seems to wick water that may get under your hood down the entire wire causing the whole thing to corrode

if you shrink wrap or wrap electrical tape around your ends after crimping/soldering them you shouldnt have to worry about water correct?

also welding cable can take the abuse of oils some solvents and weather, a good choice if you want to run it along the frame underneath

shrink wrap is not a water block, but it IS PART of a water block. 3M has a product with a goo on the inside that will increase its effectiveness.
