I think the purpose of this test was not solely for spl but if you notice the amp keeps up fine with the old Stetsom 7KD at 16+ volt as far as spl is concerned but produces more power. But on a 12 volt system where current draw is much higher for that initial burst it fails to keep up with the old 7KD. Why is that you ask? Well for the reasons which some are listed here in this thread. This amp has massive potential but it needs work imo.

Just fyi I got a bit over 15k from this amp at 18 volt on my bank of batteries where the old Stetsom 7KD I have only did 10k but the amps produced the same spl, Where is the extra few tenths that the extra power would normally give you? If you understand amplifiers a bit and volt/ohm/current you would quickly see that the current reading are way out of whack from very distorted power(DC Current) causing really high power readings with no extra gain in spl.

why on earth would anyone test an "8000" watt amp on a pair of 200w subs?

So, what you're saying is that these amps are not ready for production yet?

Do you think that they could be ready in a couple of months for Sema or CES or for our trunks?

Would it be prudent at this point to let these go until they have more financial backing to complete their project?

I m not ipresses after seeing theinternals, but I o like seeing the results of potential product. Seeing a 8k amp on200 watt subs doesnt really prove a huge point, so lets see some action on some real subs

this test is completely worthless. First of all if you are testing on a 12volt system you should be comparing to a 12v 7kd, second of all if you are testing a big power amp you simply can't get proper results using a crap pairof woofers since they can't handle the power whatsoever so the SPL portion (the important part) becomes totally useless. Third of all from what you are saying your street setup has a 5x impedance rise which is way out to lunch and for an amp to make over 3k rms at over 4ohms is pretty respectable, likely either you had the load wrong or the measurements were wrong or this test is just trash because in a real CRX setup the impedance rise is 2.5x with a wide varietyof woofers. Maybe we can give this another shot and get some tests together that make sense

I was not aware of the use of 200W subs. Probably they reach peak excursion and mechanically clipped, even with only 3000W.

So 3253W in 4,59 ohms, seems nice.

I have consumers doing about 80V and 80A of a single battery. Note the impedance in this case is 1 ohm.

Congratulations to all you, I like people who do technical tests.
