So you may think you are paying a lot, but your not, you are paying for world class products and service!!! I believe that I read that they are having a world domination sale, L6's can be had for like 399 us I think??? heres the linky, http://www.buwaldahybrids.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2801
Holy christ Gumby, take your lips off Scott's ***.

First you said the Altima is the best SQ car because he built one, now these Hybrid speakers are the end all of speakers because he builds them or endorses them or whatever.

Go clean the brown off yer nose.

MuTT. You will be fine with the gear you have (more then fine actully). The Hybrid stuff is good, no question. But after I check out their retail prices, I decided to look elswhere. There were more cars at finals with Hybrid then any othere speaker make (seemed like that anyway). So you would expect them to take home more shiney plastic. I would agree with Gumby in that they have the best techincal service for there products. Which I would say is the real reason their cars win.

Gumby, are you planning on going to SB? Send me a pm, I may be going as well.

I think more people may be using Scan Speak than any other in competition at the moment, no press since they do not market to nor do they advertise their raw drivers for car audio.

•Adire Extremis- might be the best driver (spec wise since few have heard it) for my application but Adire is ka-put (I am left with used on eBay) and this was low production too
•JBL 2118 is tonally gorgeous and as an 8" it would be a bear to fit, also that line is ka-put (I am left with used on eBay) I could go with their 6.5” comp set mid for a flavor of the 2118
•The Scan Speaks- will work
•Usher- one of my choices, will work for less $
•The B&W option- the 602 is obsolete (I am left with used on eBay) but still on the table since I know how good B&W can sound
•CDT- yet to research, no local dealers but not a major issue
•Macrom- intriguing
•Focal 5WS- was found to be in last place in the sight listed below …but where it excels spec wise and from my personal experience it still is a great option
•Dayton RS225- unheard but cheep, cheep, cheep, and they excel spec wise in this area
•Dynaudio- spec wise they always suck but they sound good, they want more internal volume than I would prefer
•Hybrid- I am holding off on these, though they are near perfect for my application, since I promised Scott I would use them next build (I am not a shill but they also fit the bill nicely spec wise) though I have not heard the 6” or 8” driver they are in the same price range as the Scan Speak and I don’t think a well made low production driver needs to apologize for being pricey

So far this thread has been a great asset… thank you CCA, of the speakers listed above the Dynaudio, Buwalda Hybrids and Macrom were designed for car audio (Focal’s 5W too I think), so we ARE ALL thinking out of the box.

Kstich- your sight was a nice compliment to the Zaph site I use thank you! http://www.markk.claub.net/Testing/testing.htm

Yea but at least Focal isn't just some fluke...a flare-up in the last couple years....they've been winning events as long as competition has been around.

I don't use Focal and praise them because someone famous in the competition world uses them, I use Focal because I LIKE THEM. They sound great, there a tad expensive, but you get what you pay for.

If Alma Gates built a subwoofer, would that mean it's the best sub out there? That's basically what Gumby is saying.

Yea, the Altima is the best SQ car cause Scott won Finals with it. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

don't forget the seas, imo they have some pretty nice stuff.

also as far as I know Dayton RS225 are nice, but aren't lower end monsters as far as comparing to other midbasses goes.

So ill see you in Daytona?????? Every time you open your mouth you put your foot in it, your a fool! I never said the Altima was the end all to be all, did I??? what I said is the car has a very nice layout for a sq car. You are just a guy that writes on forums all day, and knows nothing. If you think you know bring you best with you in March, anyone can mouth off in forums, let's see what your system is really made of and have it judged!!!!
