one of the big mistakes that i made in the begining when started to test venting mids was that the boxes i built were to big and i got a response peak that was less than favorable. not knowing exacly what speaker you are using and more specific parameter i might guess that the box you are planning may be too big, the box i just built for my f#1 4" is only 3.5 ltrs vented, can fusion not get you any t/s parameters, if not i might suggest looking at some different speakers, and dukk not only did it sound like a cop out, it just may have been

dukk, not sarcastic sincere

A general observation: I find it amusing that back in the early 90s what was read and heard was: At the 199X Finals almost every car with KPs killed every car with high mounted tweets. High mounting tweets is so wrong. KPs have the best sound.
And now a decade later, it is the exact opposite The more things change the more they are the same I guess...

dukk, i was sincere about wanting to know more about the speaker, and the cop out is that there is some reason that you cant talk about it, not sure what the problem is dood . even a lame a$$ excuse for why you cant talk about it would be better than nothing. maybe patent reasons or something else, the way you stated that you had "in fact" built speakers, like you were about to tell a story about them, then to say that you cant talk about them seemed like a cop out but whatever, i guess we will all hold our collective breath until whenever to hear about these speakers that you have "in fact" designed and built, i for one sincerely cant wait..
i think that the way people tune cars has changed and the tools that we have have changed as well, giving more flexibilty in how its done. i think the top people in car audio have a better understanding of the way cars sound now, it seems that the natural progression of intelligence in car audio has increased over the last 10 years, i think to say that we are doing things the same as we did 10 years ago and that the cars sound the same or similar, or the cars 10 years ago sounded better would be sad if that were true, otherwise have we learned nothing over the last decade?

^^excellent question and I too would like to read peoples thoughts on that. Most people agree that caraudio drivers (for the most part) are desinged to be used IB. However you can have great results using enclosures. Problem is not everone has the space to do it right...
