To address the fact that this thread has been on topic since Timmy renamed it... and the Chinese comment came out... I was furniture shopping today for a new bedroom set for the guest bedroom. I was at the local 'Best Buy’ of furniture and I opened up a dresser and saw some mediocre internal workmanship and materials... then in the drawer I found instructions (the furniture was evidently assembled at the store) and read that the furniture was made in China.... Fargin China!
China sends over container ships full of finished goods, the containers are also made in China. They do not return the steel containers because it costs more to return them to China then for China to manufacture them.
If you don’t think we are screwed yet... just wait a few years we are becoming obsolete.

I like the variety of Home audio speakers. Like I couldn't find any car audio speakers that were *reasonable* priced, that could perform great. SO I went with a couple of DynAudio 5.25 home audio drivers, since I haven't found any good car stuff for less then an "arm and a leg". They perform amazingly well. Im just blown away.

yeah, Solen is great, very good selection also try
http://www.madisound.com/

I've bought countless drivers from Madisound. Im quite impressed with them, very easy to deal with

If you go on http://www.solen.ca/
there are tons of speakers by vifa, peerless (same company) that are designed for the car environment. I'd love to try those.

I'm a big fan of just buying the drivers, and the programs, and just building your own speakers to your liking. For my MX6, the DynAudio 5.25's and the Motorola Tweets were run through a battery of tests, as well as the Vifa sub. Everything now compliments everything, and asides from the vifa Sub being crossedover at 250. (the Dynaudios cant go below that without of LOTS of cone-break up) There are no other crossovers at all. The cool thing about Piezo tweets, is that they dont need a crossover really. They have a natural roll off as the get closer and closer to their FS, then they create so much inductance, that they just stop producting sound, which works great. Its all really cool, it was really well designed. years ago, I tried to pioneer into the home audio industry, I was 17, wow did I ever get a reality check, I thought there were only about 40 home audio speaker companies out there... like Bose, Paradigm, Nuance etc. Turns out there is over 300 now. Needless to say, there were a barage of speakers out there, just like mine, just as good, for even less... therefore that idea went out the window, but I met this amazing audio engineer in the process. He lives right here in Calgary, and specializes in Home and pro audio..

His name is Tom Gates... has anybody ever seen those "Phantom" 12" subwoofers that were out a couple of years ago? They were this 'Phoenix Gold Xmax SVC' knock-off, with a flat big dust cap, and were 200 W RMS?.. ever seen those? Those subs were made by Tom, in an attempt to get into the Car audio industry, long story short, the company (Eminence)that made those subs for Tom did a crap job, and the subs basically sucked for lack of better terms (very fragile and blew easily).

He did my whole sound system, it was all planned out from him, top to bottom. It sounds incredible. Just amazing. Not quite as good as the $4000 home audio speakers in my house... but up there some where, thats for sure. So I learned the lesson of listening to people like DWVW, Dukk, Tim Ballie, Defro13, and numerous others that know what they are talking about.
I learned to shut up and listen, since the only time a person really learns, is when they understand that they really know little, and need to learn a lot, by those that have more experience and knowhow. (Thats why I say thanks as much as I do)

I've learned to just simply listen to those that know how really, I think that is the ticket to having an award winning sound system, with few mistakes along the way.

Its like the Mods here, really are amazingly knowledgable, like its nuts... they just have SOOOOO much experience. Anything Tim, Paul, Dereck say... goes for me really. No questioning there.

I have used home drivers in the car (you give up some efficiency with the large impedances and it can skew crossover points etc.).

I am currently using an NHT tweeter with Dynaudio mids, I have used peerless, McIntosh (home), Vifa and others. I am very pleased with my current setup.

I heard some Usher home audio stuff at CES, since they sell raw drivers I would give them a SERIOUS recomendation too. Very crisp and clean.
