music is like food. you know when you go to restaurant and you eat something really good, and you ask the chef for the recipe...many times they'll give you because they know that you can't quite re-create it at home. There's just other dynamics involved...skill, quality of the ingredients, cooking hardware etc...Even if you follow the recipe to a T...it'll still be diiferent...not the original. However, if you're diligent and do a good job of it, chances are you'll enjoy it very much. Occasionally you may even improve on it, as far as you're concerned anyway. So...is it still good...of course it is, just different from the original..and maybe even better...as far as you're concerned. Now if you did a poor job of following that recipe or bought sub-standard ingredients or used poor equipment...then all your guests and more than likely your tongue (unless you're truly full of yourself) will let you know that it wasn't very good. Think of SQ in the same way, your ears (like your tongue) will decide if it's good.

I agree, that's why I like my original recipe KFC with pepper sauce (West Indian home made style), now that's spicy, and as far as I'm concerned better than the original!

Its interesting to hear the opinions of what "good sound" is and everyone is right in some way. I have always thought of it this way...SOUND IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE BEST THAT YOU HAVE EVER HEARD! If you grew up listening to a ghetto blaster, a mini system would sound fantastic. The problem is that the better it sounds, the more money you throw at it. And it costs exponentially more to get exponentially less improvement as you climb the ladder. What ultimately matters is does it sound good to you!

I think one day I just need to visit a high quality studio by a Hip-Hop producer, take some notes and then put all of those products in my car ...

Sounds like a plan!
