can a person hear a difference between 2 amps cosistantly, aka to take out the possibility of guessing and blind luck. what would be considered a good average to put the debate to rest, 50,60,70,80%. i think you could geuss and get maybe 50 or 60% of the time. i think to make people a believer, you would have to be accurate at least 80% of the time. for the record i think amplifiers do have their own sonic signature, but i dont think that i could tell the difference consistantly enough to say 100% of the time that i could hear a difference. i think the limitations of human hearing and retention dont allow it

well based on all this(a watt is a watt), there should be no advantage to running an amp at 4ohm vs. 1ohm for SQ? or am I missing something? I have not noticed a difference myself, but for years I've heard that you should run your mid/high speaks at 4ohms for better SQ.
