I think there seems to be a confusion in understandings:
Some people are thinking, can you have a car that does 140+dB during an SQ comp.
Another is can you have a car, that is equipped to win an SQ comp and be able to do 140+ independently of each other.
Practically, it is not possible to meet all the criteria that comprise a winning SQ+ car such as staging, imaging, tonal balance... unless you are able to hit a perfect 40 on an RTA, meaning that your mid, high and sub frequencies will all be playing at the same level... 140+...
I think the person has to understand that principles behind giving the illusion of low frequencies being in front of the listener as opposed to behind them, using mid-bass in balance with sub-bass and using the directivity of frequencies as they increase in their favour.
If, on the other hand, you are looking to equip your car to do 140+ and run an SQ tune, then, definitely, it is possible, with processors as they are, or have been for the last few years, the car can go from a balanced, perfectly imaged sound, to a loud, 140+ configuration.
So in all... yes, you can equip your car to do both when selected, but no... you cannot do 140+ while maintaining tonal balance, imaging and staging....
If your still unsure, listen to an SQ car, find out how it does what it does, then you'll know why 140+ is just not realistic when trying to produce sound quality simultaneously.

A cars RTA curve has nothing to do with SQ. I can give you just about any shape you like on an RTA. But none of them may sound good. An RTA is a tool. In the right hands they can help a car to sound better. In the wrong hands, your just going to destroy and SQ that the car may have had.
