If our acoustic memory is only good for 8 seconds, than how does one validate that ANYTHING sounds better compared to anything else? Furthermore, that would suggest that any form of comparitive subjective sound quality judging (ie SQ) has no validity whatsoever... Cool, maybe BOSE does sound as good as anything else out there, since supposedly my "memory" of what I hear only lasts 8 seconds...

I have always maintained the same stance on this.

People think they are hearing a difference. However once you take it to another level and actually perform a somewhat scientific test to validate their experience they do not hear a difference.

I could care less what anyone thinks will make there system sound better. I do however take offence when people see generic speaker wire in my system and automaticlly feel my system is sub-par.

If $xxx.xx /foot wire makes you happier than $x.xx/foot wire then by all means use it. Just don't tell me that my system will be inferior (or yours somehow superior). I am happy to spend the difference in money on the only audio upgrade that can be 100% garranteed to make a noticable differnce every time:

More cd's.
