I'm watching this thread for personal reasons as well. I have been kicking this idea around since I bought my truck but didn't have the gonads to cut it up while it was still new. Times have changed.

The only potential problem I see with the design Yuli posted is the woofers will be loaded differently. The front ones have little front loading and maximum rear loading where the rear ones have lots of loading onthe front.

A shallow V should minimize the difference in front loading.

Something like this or a variation of such with a rear port in the middle or outside on the ends. 4-15's.

That a boy Paul. Gonna have the subs in hand in 2 hours. Can you make 2 ported rear chambers and add 48 square of port per chamber?

I wouldn't call it garbage. It was simply low powered equipment that didn't need alot of power to get loud. Nowadays everone is into heavy duty subs that nerd alot of power to be loud

keep in mind that pol used toput alot more effort into a box because equipment was much more expensive. And a 1000watt amp cost a $1000

now that you can buy the same amp for half price the mentality has changed... If it's not loud enough I'll just buy another 1000 watt amp
