3 15's and port foreward firing looks very comforting now. Put the 4th on the side or something... ?

who... just do your cutthrough!
then come back show pics and measurements..we WILL help you... dont worry about all other BS calculations for now... when you cut it then we can help design but you gotta make the first step maybe your cut out will be small and tune really low? or big and tune high? there are many calculations to tune a cut through as a band pass but YOU need to start CUTTING!

Why didn't I think of this.... can you say 6 15" or 8 12" clamshell slot port?! I'm going to design both.

whothennow - don't get all uptight. I didn't mean to sound flippant but like MTA said, you really need to come up with what you want and then we can go from there. Is it 4 15s? 4 12s? 8 12s?

Anything that is not flat will have some form of cancellation. Like all things, you have to decide if you care or not. If you do, then you better like 4 12s or 3 15s cuz that's about all the flat you got. Past there, IMO, you should look at a shallow V. If you like the V then I would do 4 15s or 6 or 8 12s with a rectangular vent in the neck of the V. 8 12s is really starting to get deep on the V though.

All of these will provide bass, and lots of it. Pioneer had a demo truck in the late 90s that had 12s facing each other all down the length of the bed. It hammered but was it the best it could be? I doubt it.

All I (we) would like to do is maximize your plan but you have to have something of a plan first.

Before you cut the hole I would have a solid idea of the layout of the box and what drivers and quantity you are using.

4 15's will work for me. In a V with the port at the neck of the V just like the link i posted on page 5. 49" is what is inbetween the wheel wells and 62" is what I have side to side. 18" is the bed height and 36" is to the beginning of the wheel well. Could I do 2 boxes firing at eachother then firing into the cab? That would keep thing semi flat with minimal angles. But that might also make the cut smaller changing the tunin of the cut. I'm actually loosing sleep over this fuking thing guys. Just stressed about cutting to much.

Btw that pioneer dually was ok but the RF van was much better. Seemed to me that the pioneer truck was all show and no go. I don't care how it looks honestly just want it to hammer with decent inexpensive drivers. I will get my pricing hammered out and draw up something.

4 M154D powerbass sub will be ordered tomorrow. i will not be able to run them lat across so a shallow V will be the box. Now that the subs are picked out should i be cutting the truck up now. lemme know.

Could do 3 across with the 4th mounted in the box. Seems like less cancellation than a V. 6 @ 35 then?
