I've got 2 E8A's running off my rubicon 702 (700 watts) and I love em ............ best 8's I've used yet
mind you I've never heard an 8w7 or an 8L7
I'm running mine in 0.7cubes each ported and tuned to 30hz
I used a 2" round flared port and port noise hasn't been a problem so far (I think it's 12" long if I remember right)
oh yeah I bought em from jon at genuine canadian audio (see link to the left) ...........
only authorised place to get ED in canada and a great place to deal with I recomend them to anyone

The only drawback to porting enclosures for cool 8-incher is that you need massively long vents, which are kinda weird. I like short vents, they seem to sound better. Anyways, I like the woofer a lot, and would still take a ten in a sealed box... Eights are still eights, and no matter how much air they can move, they need to move far to produce it, actually decreasing their transient performance... weird..

1cuft with a 3"diameter vent would be 12-13" long - that doesn't seem so bad
Same box will hold a 10 too. But 10s are commonplace and lame. So much better to run a pair of 8s and have people go
No comment on that ED "box" above...

Dukk - Why dont you like the eD spec box? I built the box that they have for the 10a for Johny toronto and the thing sounded amazing.
Rob - If you want an 8a get it authorized through GCA, I think there still on sale arent they?
