I've got some 8" focal polyglass subs.(Focal-21V2) While the 9mm Xmax seems pretty small, I can say with confidence that they safely can handle 300+ watts each in a 13 liter sealed box. While they are a bit more expensive than the eD8A, I can highly recomend them for SQ.

Have fun!

damn! that box must be tuned really low.somewhere like 5-10hz?i'd buy a sub with a bigger motor assembly, and save a few trees worth of wood.just my $.02

I would say go with an eD sub if you can afford it.
I had the 10 in a ported box and it sounded awesome. I'm sure the 8's would sound good as well. (I originally wanted to try the 8a myself, but decided to go with the 10)

I thought more port area was a good thing?

Anyways I think the 8a would be awesome to do and if you get creative why not get an ABC box built?

Well, today I got my Zapco AG750.
Now I am waiting to pick up the AG350...
Once I get it, I will install them, then I'd like to try soem 8" subs in my crx to see if they do teh job...

I am leaning towards Kicker 8L7. They are lighter than the 8a Or the JLW7...and still produce a ton of sub power ! Remember, I have a crx which doesnt require a ton of power to get some nice BOOOOOOM !

One 8 inch sub I've always loved is the JL Audio 8W6. Nice, tight sounding, but has great low end as well..
