As for the sloppy size thing.. The Canadian Loudspeaker Corp 15 I reviewed produced 'tighter' bass than that Tang-Bang eight-inch dooey I borrowed from Chaos..
My favourite, and one of the all-time long-standing most foolish myths.. You only need to run a single cable from the battery to your amplifiers and using the glued and perhaps spot welded cheap steel is ok for a ground.. Nice, thousands of dollars worth of amps and you are going to deny them the current they need.

Actually it makes perfect sense, what happens to an engine if you operate above red line? This is very similar to what happens to a sub when an amp runs out of clean power, it is called clipping which causes a speaker to distort (loss of control of the motion of the driver) which causes an excees heat buildup in the voice coil, which if it cannot be dissipated will cause failure of the sub. And since most people want more bass or louder spl, these are usually the people who underpower or abuse their subs.

Some myths I like: triple shielded cables, high dollar wire and CNC machined platinum cable ends are necessary for absolutely 0 noise and ultimate detail, SQ and imaging. Small subs for the fast bass and big subs for the slow bass. Fiberfill works by slowing the wavelength down. Jumping from 1 soundboard to another with completely different equipment will expose why 1 product is vastly superior than the other on the other board.

Capacitors are a good investment for SQ, especially the ones with the big voltage displays.
If you buy VERY expensive gear, you are guaranteed that your vehicle will sound awesome.
Quality of install doesn’t matter, especially when you own expensive gear.
It costs nothing to install car audio, so may as well haggle the shop for a freebie or just go somewhere else.
Installers grow money on trees to pay for food on the table.

Sound deadening your “entire” car is a good investment.
The center of the universe for Canadian car audio in “not” in Ontario.
Hot chicks laying on your vehicle make it sound better.
