yeah i'm an idiot so i just googled it and read that, but because i'm also bored i googled scotch tape and it turns out that peeling scotch tape off the roll at a rate or 3 cm per second produces visible light as well as x-rays strong enough to x-ray your finger, but not to worry, it only happens when peeled in a vacuum...and the worst part is i've supposed to be studying for my housing economics exam on wednesday and writing a paper on the sarbanes-oxley act for thursday...i think i'm far too excited for that show on the 4th...and now i'm rambling.

correct me if I am wrong...

speed of sound in air is 1127feet/second ...there are 60 seconds in one minute so this means 1127 * 60 = 67620 feet/minute... also 60 minutes in an hour meaning 67620 * 60 = 4057200 feet/hour and there are aproximately 5200 feet in one mile...well 4057200/5200 = 780.23 mph

solid mathematical proof...

I could be wrong
Just about the worst mathematical proof you can use to show that duct tape will/won't hold up

The 100mph rating of tape has to do with air velocity and the force it can withstand.

Sound doesn't exert the same force. If it did then you'd never be able to listen to anything because you'd be constantly hit with 780.23mph (by your math) blasts which would continually knock you over

Sorry... I don't get the joke.

not sure why I need to lighten up if it's just that I don't get your humour.

Maybe you need to lighten up?

I actually laughed out loud when I read the two posts regarding the math of the speed of sound and jordys reply to it.
