Loud Trunks
Well had a pretty interesting day.
2 amps strapped at 2 ohm 149.2:crap: re wire them to .25 apiece roll into a 150.7 and pulled the spider ring off the landing:crap:
Since it came off so cleanly( lack of glue on spider landing, my fault) I centered and re glued it.
Back in the box it goes.
Pulled the 2nd amp and pushed the box back.

Test with 1 5k at .5 trunk un sealed

Test with same settings trunk sealed this time

Looks like box centered pushed as far back as possible and sealed is the loudest for my GP.
Final stages and a permanent seal job ( has shown to gain .5-.8) under way next

yah with a box like yours it would be the loudest pushed as far back as possible.
strap the amps again but turn the gains down, find your new volume and try again.
strapped was louder for me every single time than 2 amps separate.

this is an interesting thread to say the least..... I just wanted to put out there that I use a "vynil" tape. it is stronger than both duct and tuck, and just as sticky, only the glue comes off and doesn't melt to the surfaces over time like the other tapes.... It has similar properties to the clear hockey tape, only it comes in 2", 3", and 4" rolls.....scaffold companies use a type of it to secure the white poly when they tarp a scaffold system.... I have found it at various hardware stores.
Also if you want to get the tape residue off from old sub-baked tape, use xylene. it is smelly, but works like a hot damn, and is also available at your hardware store.....Just a thought.
really impressive trunk scores..... on a related subject,
anyone know what the loudest canadian civic coupe is??? buddy of mine is trying to get his loud.....
