JL 12W7 is crap????

well there is a list already of things that should be noted or fixed before passing judgement on the sub.
..fix the seal/mount of the sub
..bad placement of enclosure
..improperly set gains
..note that the amp is a 1000 watt amp at 2ohm. 600 at 4. somewhere in between at 3. so decent power...but w7s are pretty thirsty
beyond that, something has to be malfunctioning if the sub doesn't even sound like a little 150watt setup. regardless of the enclosure.

its probably just a instalation problom also could be the controls on your deck sub and basss could be turned off or turned down , and you could definitly buy a better amp to run that sub to max performance but none the lessss ask anyone on this forum and theyll tell you its all in the box

i agree with everyone else, i have a 12w7 in a made to spec ported box and i love it, shakes the out of my car! besides ur gains shouldbt be all the way up:S my gains are at 0 right now and it still pounds. Definately amp/box/sub problem, w7 is wicked for what it does!
