I think that the price point is really good considering... I have not personally heard the sub yet but would be willing to give one audition, although I am not currently in the market to replace my 13w6, but I think its a good idea and dont let people discourage you, keep up the good work Smartass!

You Dont Actually Buy Into That Whole Paying For The Name Crap ! Are You, If You Want To Say Your Overpaying Because Of Who The Manufacturer Is Well Consider It Paying For The Knowledge, Engineering, Design, And Relaibility, Lets Say Yes Someone Unknown Can Make A Product But It Will Be Cheaper Because Your Going To Be The Ginea Pig While They Iron Out There Flaws And Problems, Soo Yes Ok Knock Yourself Out And Save Yourself Money, But Dont Expect The Quality, Reliabilty, Warranty Backing And Overall Profesionalism Of A Well Nown Manufacturer!
I Woudl Prefer To Overpay And Get A Product Thats Awesome And Flawless, Then A Cheaper Product Full Of Issues!

did steve say he was building these subs by himself? i dont think so thats why this thread was smartass subwoofer testing. he has comissiond buildhouses. read into it a little bit before coming just to on steve and say oh your product is nothing and will never compete to a big brand name.
as far as the random jibber jabber your saying you have not done your research on cost of products from the manufacturers to stores...

 

It's hard to debate on things like quality and engineering when nobody has even seen the woofer yet... and doesnt testing ANY new product make you a guinea pig? If you're testing out a new sub from "X" wellknown company, you're taking a chance as well. Besides, ironing out flaws is part of what makes great companies great - whether you spend 200 bucks on a newly designed woofer from a small company or 800 on a newly designed woofer from a top dog.

As for the whole reliability, warranty and professionalism issues, if you'd look into smartass' itrader, or take a look around the forum, you'd notice that its a non-issue.

I have one of these woofer's in my car. its not a bad driver at all... like anything it has its strengths and weakness'. its still improving IMO and for the pricepoint its at I couldn't have found a better unused driver on the market IMO.

I may not be a judge or a super audio god of this site but i have had a few drivers in my car and do appreciate a high quality setup. This driver is an amazing value in this market.
