My Build Log - Chevy Dually
#291
Started on the dash rebuild , sealed off the pass side completely so the mids don't get trashed again , and to stop any pressure from escaping out the HVAC inlet and dropping the score as it did last year. Cut out the smashed up glass and made work much easier on the top part of the dash . Went to local glass shop for new one for 200$ and look at that decal on it .. Even the glass is made in china lol. Cleaned the pinch weld down to the metal and reprimed it . I cant understand how uncommon sense is these days. Had the last one done at that shop and I told to make sure to clean that pinch weld down to the metal and prime it ... Of course they did not and there was ton of rust forming along there. So not to happy about that. Laid in the new glue nice and thick with the pyramid shape and installed .

Then was to finishing the rest of the dash for the mids and gauges and deck . Turned out ok for not doin any sort of glass this go around . I cant say I have much interest in it and after the time that last one took I just couldn't justify going that route again, There was a fair amount of time to wire it all and get the tach to work I had to make a pull up circuit off oem crank sensor , and for the speedo I just got the autometer one for the speedo , try to use the dogy oem but wouldn't jive . Installed boost and pyro gauges as well as fuel press and hour meter .
